Nuclear Theory Group, Division of Physics

  1. Hyper Nucleus (Y. Koike, Y.Nara, Y. Hirata, A. Ohnishi)
  2. Study of a few-body system including Σ-hyperon, and microscopic simula tion for hyper nucleus formation.

  3. Cluster Theory (N. Itagaki, A. Ohnishi, K. Kato)
  4. It has been known in light nuclei that the cluster structure constructed with several nucleons plays an important role. In addition to the traditional α-cluster model, we are studying the degree of the effect of α-cluster breaking especially for a carbon nucleus. We are also studying the possibility of the existence of a linear-chain configuration of the α-cluster in high excited states of Oxygen nucleus.

  5. Neutron-rich Nucleus (S. Mukai, S. Aoyama, M.Honma, T. Myo, K. Kato)
  6. We are studying exotic structure and excitation of neutron-rich nuclei such as 11Li, 10He and 6He. Especially, we are investigating new excited resonance states of these nuclei by using the Complex Scaling Method.

  7. High Energy Heavy Ion Reaction (N. Ohtsuka, Y. Nara, A. Ohnishi)
  8. A nucleus is one of densest matter in nature. Especially, in collisions between two heavy nuclei, the nuclear matter reaches very hot and dense (See diagram) . We are analyzing properties of such a matter in the simulation framework.

  9. Quarkonium System (N. Yabusaki, K. Kato)
  10. With the quark model, in which quarks are considered to be the most fundamental unit constructing matters, we are studying structure and excitation levels of baryons and mesons which are elements of a nucleus.
