題目:
Fine structure constant and precision test of quantum mechanics

要旨：　Quantum mechanics has been a very successful theory. To see how well quantum mechanics actually works, however, it is necessary to quantify the degree of success of quantum mechanics. I suggest the fine structure constnat $\alpha$ as an appropriate quantifier. From this view point I discuss high precision determinations of $\alpha$ by various means such as quantum Hall effect, ac Josephson effect, electron anomalous magnetic moment, various atomic levels neutron de Broglie wavelength, atom interferometry, and single electron tunneling, and speculate on possible impact on the foundation of quantum mechanics.
